
The
BlueSox continued to find a way to win as they cooled the Fusion of
Blaine 3-0 Saturday evening in Green Isle. Sean Breslin picked
up the win with 6.1 innings of solid ball, and Dave Meyer picked up
his second save of the tourney with 2.1 innings of shut-out ball.
The Sox continued to hit balls hard right at people, but utilized 3
straight bunt hits from Swank, Port and B. Toops in the 5th to start
the scoring. Austin faces Mankato in a winner's bracket game
in Green Isle at 5PM on Sunday. The winner stays in the
driver's seat while the loser drops down to the loser's bracket.

The
Austin BlueSox survived the single elimination first round of the
2007 State Amateur baseball tournament Friday night in Hamburg.
Sean Breslin pitched 7 strong innings in the no decision and doubled
home Andy Swank with the winning run in the bottom of the 8th.
Dan Swift capped the scoring with his third hit of the night, a
two-out single to plate Breslin to make the score 4-2. The Sox
play the Blaine Fusion next Saturday at 5PM in Hamburg, as the rest
of the tourney is in an 8-team double elimination format. Game

Sweeping their way
through the Section 2 tournament, the
Austin BlueSox advanced to their first State tournament with a 6-1
win over the Royals of Rochester. Sean Breslin dominated all 9
innings only allowing 1 run on 3 hits. The Sox used a 4 run
6th inning to seal the deal as pitching and defense took care of the
rest. The Austin BlueSox take their 18 game winning streak
into the first round of the State tournament. The Sox now play
the 2nd seed from the Section 6 region at Hamburg on Friday, August

As expected,
the BlueSox took care of business Sunday afternoon with an opening
round Section 2 regional win over Faribault. Previously, the
Sox had beaten Faribault via the ten-run rule in both regular season
games and Sunday was no exception. Firing on all cylinders,
the game was shortened in the bottom of the 7th after the final tally
showed 11-1. Nels
Nelson hurled all 7 and picked up his first post-season win of the
year. The Sox play a State qualifying game and put their 17
game winning streak on the line against the
Rochester Royals on Wednesday at 7PM at Marcusen.

The BlueSox
completed their red-hot July schedule by going 15-0 in the month.
During their domination the Sox wrapped up the division title going
undefeated in league play and securing the number one seed into
playoffs. The Sox open up on Sunday (5th) at home against
Faribault at 2PM. "This is a great time for us to be
clicking. All aspects of our game are red-hot and we have
really become a complete team," stated BlueSox ace Sean Breslin.
The Sox look to make their first State appearance in their 4 year
existence

The Sox
continued their domination in league play as they tallied their 10th
win in row. Joe Huffman (pictured right) went 5.2 innings and
Sean Breslin (4-0) finished in relief as the BlueSox needed 11
innings to knock of last year's State champs for the second time
this season. The winning run came in the top of the 11th on a
2 out line drive single by Joe Kroc. Swank, Swift, Denzer and
Breslin combined for 9 of the BlueSox's 14 hits. Austin

The
Austin BlueSox continued their hot-streak over the weekend winning
all three games at Cold Spring. The theme of the weekend was 1
inning per game as the BlueSox used 4 total innings over 3 games to
score a total of 10 runs. Game 2 against Cold Spring was
highlighted by a 2-hit shutout by Sean Breslin. "My arm felt
good and I had my [stuff] working tonight. I could have
pitched 18 innings of scoreless ball but I only needed 7
tonight; there is always room for improvement."

With a 17-0
massacre of Faribault, the BlueSox extended their winning streak to 6 games and are 8-1 in their last 9.
Every BlueSox player had an RBI as the team pounded out 17 hits. Joe Huffman quietly threw
the 9-inning shutout to extend his season win total to four. "It was a good game for everyone to
get their [hacks] in", stated BlueSox GM/player/manager/bench coach, Josh Kunze. The BlueSox travel
to Cold Spring this weekend for a 3 game series starting at 1:00PM on Saturday.

Round
1 of The Rumble at the River had the feel of playoff atmosphere as the BlueSox won in dramatic fashion over the
Greyhounds 5-4. Sean Breslin and Joe Huffman kept the Hounds off balance all
night with Huffman
taking the win. The BlueSox used timely hitting and defense to take
the upper hand in the division standings. The Sox scored the winning run in the bottom of the 9th off Dave Meyer with 3

Austin
VFW Post 1216 went 5-2 at the Stars of Tomorrow tournament in
LaCross, WI, over the weekend while garnering a 2nd place trophy.

The
Austin BlueSox opened up in typical fashion with an opening round
win in the Spamtown Challenge. The BlueSox got on the board early with 4
straight hits from Swank, Johnson, Wolard and Swift. Surdy went 5.2 innings of 2
hit ball to get the win. In the night cap, the Prescott Pirates cuffed
the Austin Greyhounds 4-1 on sound pitching and timely hitting. The Sox (1-0)
continue pool play vs. Des Moines tomorrow night at 9PM.

The
Austin BlueSox are gearing up for the Spamtown Challenge, hosted
by the Austin Greyhounds this weekend. The Sox (11-7) open up against cross town
friendly rival the Austin Athletics at 6PM on Thusday at Marcusen. The BlueSox,
who finished 3rd last year are looking to win it all this year with
stronger pitching, hitting and defense. "We have a good shot this year.", stated

The
Austin BlueSox won 2 out of 3 at the Red Wing Tournament this weekend.
On Thursday night, the BlueSox lost a close one against Hastings. On Saturday,
the BlueSox came back in the bottom of the 9th to defeat Shakopee 4-3
and on Sunday, the BlueSox put up 14 hits against Apple Valley to win 6-1.
The BlueSox travel to Grand Rapids on Saturday.

The
Austin BlueSox thumped Owatonna 17-2 Wednesday night in a non-league matchup.
The game was highlighted with a Johnson and Johnson reunion as Dick Johnson played
with his son Nate. Dick, after taking a 32 year hiatus, went 1-4 with 2 walks and
Nate supplied a moon-shot solo blast. Breslin quietly racked up 7 RBIs and
Danny Kirby went 8 innings of 4 hit ball for the win. The BlueSox open
at the Red Wing tourney on Thursday.

The
Austin BlueSox jumped out to an early lead Wednesday night thanks to a massive
grand slam in the first by Dan Swift [pictured] and coasted to an 8-1 win over the
2006 Class B State Champs, Rochester Royals. Sean Breslin scattered 8 hits
while going the distance for his second win of the season. With the win, the BlueSox jump to
an early 1-0 lead in division play. The BlueSox travel to Dundas on Friday for a
7:30PM start.

The
Austin BlueSox traveled to Minnetonka on Memorial Day, Monday, to
take part in the new Veterans Field Memorial Day festivities.
The day included a tribute to two Iraqi soldiers and the handout of
a commemorative Veterans Field pin. The Austin BlueSox gave
the 2006 Class 'A' State Champs everything they could handle, but
fell short in the 10th, 3-4. The BlueSox travel to Mankato on
Wednesday for a 7:30PM start.

Nels
Nelson tossed 6 innings of 4 hit, no earned-run
ball
as he was the recipient of a 3-1 win over last year's Class 'C' State champs,
the Blue Earth Pirates. Once again Sean Breslin and Pat Wolard provided all
the offense the BlueSox would need as both hit bombs over the left-field fence.
The BlueSox travel to Marshall on Sunday for a double dip and Minnetonka on
Monday for a Memorial Day game at new Veterans Field.

The
Austin BlueSox enjoyed a hit parade
as they pounded out 17 hits en-route to a 12-6 win over the Aces of
Red Wing. All 10 BlueSox players had at least 1 hit and 5 had a multiple
hit game. Sean Breslin led the attack going 4-6 with a double and a
triple. Dan Swift towered a solo shot in the 3rd. The BlueSox travel
to Northfield Wednesday for a 7:30PM start.

The
Austin BlueSox traveled to Dassel on
Friday to take on the Saints under the lights. Austin posted 5
runs on 9 hits and had stellar pitching in the win. Joe
Huffman started and went 6 innings for the win and was eventually
relieved by Sean Breslin. Pat Wolard led the hitting attack
with 2 hits including a 2-run bomb to start the scoring in the
first. The BlueSox travel to Cold Spring on Saturday for a 6PM
start.
